Editing and finalising my film trailer

Today i finished editing and finalising my film trailer. Me and my project partner added the music for the background of the trailer using GarageBand. We then recorded a voice over for certain parts of the trailer, to give the viewer a rough idea of what the film is about. We then added this to the trailer. Finally we did the final cuts of the trailer. The previous trailer we had made was too long winded and told the audience the outline of the story and was in order too much. So we made sure the re-make of out trailer was full of short cuts, and didnt tell the viewer the story, but did grab the attention and interest of the viewer.

Final website design

This is my final website design. I made numerous changes from my rough design for it to become like this.
The boxes on the right hand side of the page are orange because i thought that this would match the orange on the character's hoody, and bring the colour out more.
I put the film institution's logo; Vertigo films, at the bottom of the page to inform the viewer who the film is released by.

Rough website design

This is the rough design that i first came up with for my website homepage. I have since made a number of changes to this, which are in the final design.
The first change i made was to put a black bar underneath the menu writing, and move the writing to the top of the page. This makes it more clear to read it, and it stands out more.

The second change i made was to add a bar down the right hand side of the page with a couple of articles in boxes. These boxes contain articles with the latest news, such as 'exclusive photo shoot'.

The final change i made was to put film critics' ratings and views of the film at the side of the homepage. This is to help encourage viewers of the site to want to see the film. They may not have seen the critics' ratings on the film poster.

Website Ideas

These are two possible website ideas that i have designed. The main difference between the two is that the main image in the first one is a group of actors together, whilst the second design features just the main actor. Also the second design has articles on the right hand side. These are there to give the viewer the latest news and articles.

Editing

Today me and my media partner Marco started editing the beggining of our trailer that we filmed last week. We filmed the first four scenes in different areas in Luton, and a small amount at school. I found the editing interesting and fun as it gives me the chance to make the trailer more interesting, as i can merge different shots and cuts together, so that film shot contains different camnera angles that lead onto eachother.

Final Poster Design

This is my final design for my film poster. I took the two photographs i chose and put the image of the actor ontop of the image of the urban setting. This informs the audience what type of genre the film is, due to the urban connotations such as a gun and bandana. The idea of the actor cut out and put ontop of the urban setting gives the poster a more 3D look, and informs the audience both what kind of characters are involved in the film, and where the film is set. I managed to do all of this by using the Apple Mac computers. I learned how to use these last year whilst doing my AS media project.

Rough poster design

This is the poster that i first created, but after feedback i made some ajustments, and changed the design to my final design.
The changes i made were moving the actors names to the bottom of the page along with the credits that i inserted, and also moving the film critics reviews lower down on the page.

After looking at numerous film posters i decided that i would insert actors names and credits at the bottom of the page in small writing, as done in the majority of film posters. This is to give credit to the people invloved in the film such as producer and musicicans, and also to inform the audience of the actors invloved.
I also decided to move the film critics review's lower down on the page, because they were covering up the picture of the urban flats in the background, which is a vital part of the poster, as it informs the audience of the rough area the film is set in.

How I made my film poster

This is an image that i took in Luton that i chose to be the background of my film poster. I used this image because it shows a rough, rundown, urban estate, which is linked to my film, as my trailer is set in a rough, urban, gang-run area.
This image is linked with the film distribution company; Vertigo Films. This is because films realeased by Vertigo Films are often set in urban areas, and are about normal peoples lives in rough areas, such as Football Factory and The Firm.

This is an image that i took of one of the main actors, that i am going to use as the main image for the film poster. He is the main kidnapper, and gives the audience an idea about what the film is about, as he is dressed in urban clothing and is carrying a gun. These are connotations of an urban film. This image is also linked with Vertigo Films, as films released by Vertigo Films are mainly to do with violence, such as 1 Day, Bronson and The Firm.

Film poster design ideas

These are some possible ideas for film posters that i designed. They are similar ideas, except one has an urban background instead of a coloured background.

Plot Sheets

These pictures that i uploaded are pictures that me and my partner took of the plot sheets. The plot sheets are used so that we can plan out the movie trailer in scenes. Each sheet includes boxes such as 'dialogue' and 'props' for each scene. These are so that we can see what we will need for each scene and plan scene - by - scene things such as dialogue and costume.
